My Holiday & Property Buying Trip – My Adventure

 

It was November when I flew to Bulgaria -  well that was a good time – wasn´t it?  I would see the country as winter started to come in, not in the summer which always makes houses and places look at their best. 

I was to hold up a while whilst they checked  they were happy that all paperwork, documents etc were in place and that the property was suitable for me to purchase.  All I had to do at this stage was to decide on the Company Name that I would register, allowing me to buy a house with land, and to get my finances in place ready for the Green light.   When it came I was both excited and a little apprehensive.  My husband  was unable to get away from work to travel with me, so it meant I was to do this trip alone.

It was November when I flew to Bulgaria -  well that was a good time – wasn´t it?  I would see the country as winter started to come in, not in the summer which always makes houses and places look at their best. 

The journey went without any hitches and I arrived in Bulgaria still excited and still apprehensive.  The Estate Agent as promised was there to meet me and after a few short introductions whisked me off to Sofia and his office where I met the sales team.  From here off to see an advocate, sign forms and then to apply for my company registration and my national insurance number, then the opening of my bank accounts.  Phew so much chasing around  and after my early start for the journey to Bulgaria. 

Of course I expected to be staying in Sofia overnight, before the journey by car to Bourgas (Burgas) Boy was I wrong, a cup of tea, and straight to the car.  6 hours later I was in Bourgas (Burgas) booked in to the hotel and really ready for some shut eye. 

How and when everything got sorted upto the day I handed over the cash is all a bit of a blur now and too long a story to put here but it happened and I did get to the final stage of buying my house. 

That day was spent chasing between Advocates, Architects, Courts and Judges but by the end of the day I had Keys and title deeds for my home in Bulgaria tightly in my hand. 

To have everything complete before I left, I had to postpone my departure from Bulgaria to the UK. 

This meant I had to cancel my flight tickets and ended up having  fly to Poland, as all direct flights to the UK were fully booked.  This was due to some special promotion that week.   None of this mattered too much, everything I came to do, had been done and  with one extra benefit.  During my time in Bulgaria I had come to conclusion that I had fell for this beautiful  Country and the friendly helpfulness of its people and I couldn´t wait to return.

Back to Today and my Dreams

That Was four years ago and unfortunately till now commitments haven´t allowed my return, but maybe things are about to change!!!  Hence the start of this website and my quest for informaton about Bulgaria.
