Travel Insurance

It is strongly recommended that you take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to covering the full period you will be in Bulgaria.  Insurance should include medical repatriation  to the UK if necessary.

You should be aware, most insurance companies will not authorise medical repatriation to the UK just as a matter of routine, or because local hospitals are not up to UK standards.

Ensure you check any exclusions, and that your policy covers you for all the activities you want to undertake.

Earthquakes - Natural disasters

Bulgaria do regularly experience earth tremors.   However these are normally relatively minor, up to 4.5 on the Richter Scale and do not have any major impact on the country
